Painting

The strongest technical aspect of this project was changing of the opacities, using different kinds of brushes to create, use of the pen tool, and add texture to the image. Also creating new layers for each section of the image. The technical aspect of my work that could be improved upon is the grouping of my layers to make it more organized, and adding more texture. Also another thing is to not make it as choppy on the corners and squared with the pen tool. The easiest part of this assignment was choosing the colors based on the first image with the eye dropper. This was easy to match to the original image and new painting.

What was difficult about this art activity, was using the pen tool and properly deselecting in order to fill in the color, and choose a different texture with the brush tool. Another hard part was trying to find a picture that was a black and white painting, that interested me and was a large image, and not pixelated online. I demonstrated the objective in this art activity by making it look like a painting, with all types of different brushes. To the best of my ability. If I could do this art activity again, I would choose an easier image. Mainly because the small spaces and many shades of whites and grays are hard to fill in with colors that show up and create an effective shadow.

Pop Art

The strongest technical aspect of my work is the use of the mask tool. I used this in order to create a new layer of colors for each body part. The technical aspect of my work that can be improved upon is the desaturation because her eyes are extremely black and her hair is also very pixelated. I could improve this by changing the amount of desaturation, by increasing or decreasing it. The easiest part of this art activity was choosing the colors of each body part layer.

The most difficult part of this art activity was choosing the image because finding a large image that was not drag and dropped into PhotoShop pixelated was hard. I ended up also having to switch the image from a different image of her face, that was pixelated. I demonstrated the objective in this art activity by using the most vibrant and bright, neon colors I could find because the way I understood the name Pop Art was to make her pop. For this reason, I used a hot pink background, a mint green on her shirt, and a bright blue eye shadow to make the colors pop off of her pale face with her very dark hair. If I could do this art activity again, I would have done the desaturation differently possibly, and definitely would have used different colors because the the green and pink do not match very well. Also the pale skin works well with them but other than that, it creates an even more flat surface for her eyes to sit on.

Hybrid Animal

The strongest aspect of my hybrid animal was the use of the clone stamp tool, and the changing of opacity to spread the peacock pattern onto the horse. This is the strongest aspect because it is the most significantly shown throughout the piece. The technical aspect of this piece that needed to be improved on is using the blend tool because it does not show up enough throughout my piece on the horse. It can be improved upon the horse and around his head with the peacock pattern. The easiest part about this art project was erasing the background, not selecting the images because you had to make sure the could work together and the old background was irrelevant and could be erased, right off the bat. Finding a new background was not easy either because it also had to match one of the animals and blend with the other too.

What was the difficult about this art project was creating the image of two blended or hybrid animals because it was also hard to choose two animals that would work well together. Choosing the new background and also keeping fresh layers of animals was not easy. I demonstrated the objective in this activity by blending the two animals together in order to create a morphed or hybrid animal. If I could do this art activity again, I would choose different animals because the ones I choice did not work well together.

Assignment 5- Polaroid Project

The strongest technical aspect of my work is the use of duplicating layers and the marquee tool. These tools were the most commonly used throughout the whole project. I could improve on the background of my work. This project is not completed so more use of the marquee tool would complete the project. The easiest part about this art activity was choosing the picture and the background. This was not a hard aspect of the project.

The most difficult aspect of this art activity was keeping track of each polaroid and where it was on my image. I demonstrated the objective of creating the illusion of overlapping polaroids by duplicating my layers of polaroids over the image. If I could do this project again I would choose a different picture and also choose a solid background, that is one layer and not broken up into many sections.

Assignment 6- Shape Collage

The strongest aspects of my work were the use of the marque tool, and the changing of the opacity. This is the strongest because it is shown throughout the entire project. I could improve on using more objects to fill the negative space in my work. I could do this by using more larger objects. Choosing the colors for each object was easy about this art activity because I just chose different ones that went together as I went through the project. Also I used a lot of duplicated layers.

The only difficult thing about this project was achieving 11 groups, and remaining symmetrical but other than that there were not many hard aspects of this specific project. I demonstrated the object of this activity by achieving 11 or more groups. If I could do this art activity again, I would use less opacity changes and make a different center point.

Assignment 4- Tattoo Project

The strongest technical aspect of my work is using the warp and the burn tool to, to create a natural looking tattoo. It is the strongest aspect of this piece because it makes the tattoo look real and wrap around the skin of the shoulder and the collar bound. The opacity of my tattoo could be improved, in order to make it blend onto her skin better. Choosing the picture to work with was the easiest part of this art activity, because after that the more difficult task was finding a black and white sketched tattoo.

Finding a black and white sketched tattoo online was difficult because it could not have any color. Also many flowers and roses that I looked at had color and were not easy to work with. I displayed the objective in this art activity by using the dodge tool and the burn tool, also learning how to save it as a displacement copy was something new and different. Also I used the desaturation tool to create this image. If I could do this project again, I would chose a different person so that I could create either a larger tattoo or make the tattoo stand out more, and possibly add color to make it more life like.

Assignment 3- Imaginary Landscape

The strongest technical aspect of my work is the use of the masking tool, and changing the opacity. This is the strongest aspect my project because it is the main tool I used create the image I did, by putting the background and the foreground together. The technical aspect of my work that could be improved on if the amount of objects, or the softness of each of the images where they are cut to fit together. Choosing the images I wanted to use was the easiest about this activity, because I just chose things that related to me, and places that I enjoy to go.

Choosing smaller images within the backgrounds to fit into the landscape was more difficult about this art activity. Also remembering to use masks and how to use them was hard. If I could do this art activity again I would use more masks and change the opacity in more places when using the brush tool to cut out parts of images. Also I would have skewed the lighthouse like I did with the sail boat, and possibly used a different foreground.

Assignment 2- Self Identity

The strongest technical aspect of my work is the use of overlapping layers and color placement. This is the strongest technical aspect because it is used the most throughout the project. The use of blending layers more efficiently could be improved on by using objects that fit together well. Choosing the images for this activity was the easiest and creating color placement between all of the images. Also coloring them with the eye dropper was easy.
The most difficult thing about this art activity was using the layers properly and not leaving behind random layers, which create traces of the object behind. I demonstrated the objective of this art activity by depicting what kind of person I am, and what things I enjoy about summer. If I could do this art project again, I would use all coloring book page images so that all the objects fit together.

Assignment 1- Letter Project

The strongest technical aspect of my work is the various amount of layers used. Another strong technical aspect of this project is the amount of transformations. I used these and changed the scale to create my work. The technical aspect of my work that could be improved on would be the radial symmetry, in my project. Choosing the colors was easy for this art activity, except the background. Choosing what looked better behind the brighter colors, took longer to decide.

Using proper radial symmetry was the most difficult part of this art activity. Especially when there were many layers, that were overlapping it was hard to line up each letter and continue to keep it symmetrical. I demonstrated the objective in this art activity by using more than ten layers, four colors, editing the layers, using balance to create symmetry, and changing the opacity on them. If I could do this art activity again I would use a different font, and place the center letters differently.
